So you like taking pictures, huh?

Way back in college, it’s been my desire to have my own digital gadgets, things I can bring along wherever I go.

I’m cutting the long story short. I finally graduated, had my first ever cool job, and paid for my own expenses. Then that moment came for my wishlist. Two days after I received my fifth paycheck, I went to a Gaisano City Mall in Boulevard, RoxasCity. At WellCom, I was browsing and choosing what to purchase among MP4, digicam and/or a cellular phone. Then remembering that I used to take pictures of anything way back in school, I grab a silver 10.2 megapixel digital camera, tried it, asked the saleslady about its features, paid it, and went out of the store.

That was how I disbursed Php 6, 900.00 (VIP price). Going home, I realized how hasty was I to spend such amount of money given my then income level, a starter. That was October 14, 2009.

So that’s it. I kept my new gadget in my room at first, but realizing that it’ll just depreciate in value day by day, I brought it with me at work. Worse, it has no camera bag! It was my fault not browsing for other camera brands with a complete package: digicam pouch, charger, and free memory card. Perhaps I was just too eager that time to spend my money to own a cam.

Because of lacking adequate protection, putting it in my pant’s pocket caused it some scratches, even though I had already sourced an improvised case for it.

Then today, Dec. 4, 2009, I saw this very same camera being sold online for only $88! That’s approximately equivalent to Php 4, 050.00, a saving of about Php 2,800! I have checked the tool’s price in major malls here in Iloilo and still find it at the same price the time I purchased it.

I had regrets. Some regrets, just a little. But for those out there who are planning to buy the same model of digi, I would like to refer you here (yes, this is the link). Although I’m not sure of the site’s reliability, it’s good to know that we will know the current online price of such shutterbug’s favorite gadgets.
