Ophiuchus, Newest Zodiac Sign?

The new zodiac sign has received mixed comments everywhere. Many are alarmed, amazed and even disappointed. This is due to the fact that others are not in favor of changing their zodiac sign. Others were grateful somehow. They thought that their new star sign might bring good luck and abundance in life.

ORIGIN

The new additional star sign is not exactly new as anyone would expect it to be. The constellation Ophiuchus is already known since the old times. A Greek name for “serpent-bearer,” is situated northwest of the center of the Milky Way, wherein its southern part is Scorpius (west) and Sagittarius (east).   

Ophiuchus is depicted as a man holding a serpent thus called, Serpens. According to Roman Mythology, Ophiuchus constellation symbolized the ancient Asclepius, a healer. After discovering the secrets of withdrawing death through the use of a healing herb, Zeus killed him to avert human race in gaining immortality.

Although the news of having new additional star sign is not well accepted by a lot of people, it has already been practiced as a part of pop culture in Japan based from the 13- sign sidereal astrology or a system in astrology that uses the actual star constellations of the zodiac, they branded as the “true zodiac.”

British astrologer, Barry Parkinson known as Walter Berg first introduced this new order in 1995.
